Dordrecht - Also in 2010 was the well-known prutmarathon of schermerhorn back on the agenda. As each year I was present. But this time without Ton. That saves me enormously in the number of photo material. I didn't participate this year with the veterans. It was fine weather and the spirit wasn't there this year really. I myself have had also not a change with me and was therefore a little cautious not by accident splattered with mud. Timo did participate. We were full of admiration with his three rounds sustained participation. I have quite a few photographs of him. He was actually on the 'right way' dressed. He jumped bravely in every ditch. Next year I want once again participate with the veterans, because that is surely the only way be covered with fine mud in an appropriate manner.
Also this year, the groups were the height of the day. In two Heads went about 40 groups of four men's and one lady. The participants came far before time and were fulling around a little bit. It is sure, that these clean boys participated more often. But nobody can identifies them. Because, after two or three ditches, the participants become totally unrecognizable. The take-off is always very spectacular. The groups fighting for the first place disappeared in a moment. Then the better clothed participants come. They go for the price of the cleanest lady. At this moment the people are still recognizable. They wear beautiful clean red, blue, green, yellow or white T-shirts. But that last not long. Because, after the first ditch everyone has only a one color.
As described above, the fight for the cleanest lady is no easy task. Already in the first ditch ends this competition for many groups. The lady then try to jump simply in the boat. But the boat collapse and they end in the water. Then a serious participation as 'cleanest' is no longer possible. The trick is to be very, very careful. It is also important to stay away from other groups. It is the intention, that at least the T-shirts of the lady stays clean. Many other participants make wonderful dives, splattering the mud in the round. The lady, that the time of crossing badly chosen, is within moments complete covered with mud as well.
On the last ditch these participants choose to make a spectacular dive. There were four gentlemen synchronous. I myself had no clean clothes with me this year. I once However, would examine how deeply such ditch is, where the participants the whole day through struggled with. It appears very deep. The idea to become clean to the other side, become soon ridiculously. On the side wanted John help me to come out of the water. That is not wise when you are not firmly stated.
